On the 1st September 2013 Tomlinscote became an Academy and is currently involved in developing partnerships with local schools who wish to join the Trust. This is an opportunity for shared learning, including staff working across different sites and phases, which is an exciting development.
Tomlinscote is part of a soft federation, working closely with Kings International College. the success of this partnership has bee recognised by Ofsted.
We are a Language College with the emphasis firmly on the creation of a school culture in which students develop an international perspective.
For a number of years KS3 students have personal laptops and from 2014 Year 10 students have iPad's. as do teaching staff. These devices aid learning, allowing activities that cannot occur with books and paper.
We have a wide range of courses available at KS. these include football coaching, catering, hair, beauty, construction, child care and creative media. These are all based in a state-of-the-art vocational centre.
The school is fully staffed, partly because staff report that they can concentrate on teaching and are supported by a strong administration team. We have a well-established programme if support for newly appointed staff which enables them to settle into the school quickly.
Tomlinscote is committed to safe guarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) checks will be required for suitable candidates.
