Job Purpose

The trainee apprenticeship tutor will assist in running and delivering apprenticeship programmes across the UK. The role will require the successful candidate to have a good understanding of the delivery of digital apprenticeships including Digital Marketing, Junior Content Producer and IT programmes. There will be a blended learning approach, with some group sessions to support the development of the apprentices.

You will also be responsible for mentoring learners during their work placements and ensuring they are in a safe environment where they can progress and learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Shadowing and working closely with LMP Education’s fully qualified and experienced Digital and IT Tutors and take responsibility for your own caseload of learners.
  • You will support delivering high quality standards of the Digital and IT qualifications
  • You will also support, primarily in an advisory capacity, apprenticeship programme development and quality improvement activity.
  • Maintain tutorial records and contribute to the overall monitoring of apprenticeship student progress
  • Supporting learners in preparation for endpoint assessments (EPA) where applicable, providing constructive feedback to challenge the learner’s ability.
  • To assess learners’ performance in the workplace.
  • To support delivering Functional Skills qualifications as part of an apprenticeship.
  • To maintain up-to-date and accurate records (e-portfolio) for each learner according to internal procedures.
  • To carry out regular progress reviews with learners and their employers to track progress towards timely completion.
  • To provide ongoing information, advice and guidance with learners for them to reach their aspirations and goals. Successful completion of IAG training within 6 months of start date with LMP Education.
  • To deliver training on a 1:1 or group basis – face to face or online
  • To comply with the internal quality assurance strategy to ensure that assessments are delivered to a high standard.
  • To provide progression, retention and achievement information for the course being taught.
  • To undertake appropriate training as identified through the observation and line management process.
  • To keep up to date with End Point Assessment Organisations amendments to standards and the endpoint assessment criteria.
  • To prepare and support learners through the endpoint assessment.
  • To achieve good levels of compliance by maintaining timely records on Smart Assessor.

Education & Experience

Essential

  • Comfortable with using Microsoft packages and new technology.
  • Experience of working in an educational training and development environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage own diary.

Desirable

  • Hold qualifications in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Qualified as a Tutor / Assessor – A1/ TAQA / CAVA or equivalent or willing to train towards this.
  • Knowledge and understanding of standards up to level 3 with different relevant awarding bodies.
  • Knowledge of funding streams and funding requirements for the delivery of Apprenticeship and skills programmes.
  • Ideally have experience/knowledge in using e-portfolio systems e.g., SMART Assessor
