Animal Management Teacher – Permanent - £27,850 to £31,280 per annum
The Land Based Industries Department are looking for a highly motivated Teacher whose principal responsibility will be to deliver and assess classroom-based animal management learning at Levels one through five at Barnsley Colleges Wigfield Farm Campus.
Wigfield Farm is set in the Worsborough Country Park area of Barnsley the farm has three main functions:
- A base for Barnsley College Animal Management Agriculture and Horticulture courses
- A working farm producing livestock
- An Open Farm and Visitors Centre accessible to the local and wider community

£27,850 to £31,280 per annum
As part of the Animal Management team, you will be required to participate in the resourcing and preparation of the course delivery and assessment, undertake course administration and internal quality assurance. You will be involved in student progress and achievement including setting and reviewing of academic targets with learners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal science and be comfortable delivering a range of animal science topics from level two to level five. You must have the ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
As part of the role, our new Animal Management Teacher you will take an active part in course related trips and visits, students open days and information evenings and supporting the work experience that students undertake as part of their course. You will ensure that all college and awarding body standards are met. The successful candidate will have proven experience of providing outstanding support for students and be flexible, self-motivated and dedicated to student achievement. Up to date knowledge and experience of animal husbandry is essential.
