The Opportunity
Barnsley College is seeking a proactive and detail driven Systems and Data Analyst to join our MIS & Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in how data and digital systems support staff, students, and strategic decision making across the College.
In this pivotal role, you will help deliver our organisational data and systems strategy focusing on system integrations, data quality, process improvement, and the development of modern digital tools using the Microsoft Power Platform. You will support the creation of reliable, secure and future ready solutions that help make our systems smarter and our processes more efficient.
Working closely with departments across the College, you will ensure data flows seamlessly between systems, integrations are robust, and information is accurate and fit for purpose. You will also contribute to innovation through the adoption of AI tools, automated data checks, and new ways of working that enhance operational efficiency.
About You
You will be a detail focused and proactive individual with a logical, analytical mindset and a genuine interest in improving systems and data processes. Comfortable working with data from multiple systems, you will be able to balance priorities, manage workloads independently and meet deadlines.
You will bring confidence in engaging with colleagues to understand their needs, along with enthusiasm for modernising processes, improving data quality and developing your technical skills. Your approach will be solutions oriented, collaborative and adaptable, enabling you to contribute positively across a wide range of stakeholders within the College.
Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity:
Required
• Level 4 qualification or qualified through experience.
• 5 GCSE passes including English Language and Mathematics grade C, or equivalent.
• NVQ level 3 or above in computing (or related discipline)
• Experience with system integrations and data quality management; experience working with data from multiple systems.
• Experience in the use of application development tools, SQL Server Management Student (SSMS)
• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL queries, Power BI, O-Data
