Salary: £5,876.55 - £8,851.22 per annum (£28,991 - £43,666 full time equivalent)

Contract Type: Permanent Part Time 7.5 hours per week

Starting Salary - Appointments are normally made at the bottom of the salary scale. A higher starting salary may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

The Opportunity 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed A Level IT Teacher to join our Sixth Form College and inspire learners to achieve their full potential.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching within your specialist subject area, using a range of engaging teaching and learning methods. 

You will contribute to the planning, review and development of the curriculum, produce effective schemes of work and learning materials, and use a range of assessment activities to help learners make excellent progress. 

Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you will provide academic and pastoral support, giving learners the guidance, challenge and encouragement they need to achieve their maximum potential. 

You will monitor learner progress and contribute to strategies designed to improve attendance, retention, achievement, success rates and value added. 

Working closely with Course Leaders and Personal Progress Mentors, you will play an important role in supporting the continued success, growth and development of the Sixth Form College. 

About You

You will be passionate about teaching and committed to creating an engaging, supportive and inclusive learning environment for A Level students.

You will have a relevant degree together with experience of working within an education setting, delivering learning to a range of learners and developing effective learning materials. 

You will have excellent communication skills and an understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of A Level learners.

You will be able to use a range of teaching methodologies, provide clear and constructive feedback and contribute positively to curriculum planning and development. 

Previous A Level teaching experience and a relevant higher degree are desirable

Required

• Teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards a PGCE if a Level 6 qualification is not already held 

• Degree in a relevant subject 

• GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications 

• Experience of working within an education setting 

• Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners 

• Experience of developing learning materials 

• Ability to devise strategies to improve attendance, retention, achievement, value added and success rates 

• Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to students to support their learning 

• Understanding and knowledge of the academic and pastoral needs of A Level learners 

• Knowledge of a range of teaching methodologies 

• Good verbal and written communication skills
