The opportunity
As our Accountancy and Finance Trainer within the Apprenticeships department, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our apprentices’ careers, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the accountancy and finance sector. You will deliver engaging, high quality training with a strong focus on online teaching, providing both 1 1 support and group sessions, ensuring learners develop the technical and practical skills required for success.
You will support apprentices across the Level 2 Accounts/Finance Assistant, Level 3 Assistant Accountant, and Level 4 Professional Accounting Technician apprenticeship standards, along with their accompanying AAT qualifications. Your delivery will primarily take place online, with group class sizes typically ranging from 5–15 learners.
You’ll collaborate closely with apprentices and employers, tailoring online learning and support to meet each learner’s unique needs. You will monitor progress, provide ongoing guidance, and ensure apprentices are fully prepared for their end point assessments, helping them build confidence and professional competence.
You’ll manage a caseload of apprentices, assessing their progress regularly and maintaining strong communication with employers. This includes conducting initial skills assessments, supporting apprentices in securing suitable work placements where required, and building lasting employer relationships to encourage ongoing development. You will also create and update personalised training plans to ensure every apprentice remains on track.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the development of aspiring accounting professionals.
About you
We are looking for someone with strong experience in accountancy or finance, who is passionate about supporting the next generation of professionals. You’ll bring practical industry insights into the classroom and enjoy helping learners apply their knowledge in real workplace settings.
You will be an excellent communicator who can build strong relationships with apprentices, employers and colleagues. You’ll be confident in providing constructive feedback, guiding learners through their qualifications and helping them stay motivated.
Organisational skills are important, as you’ll be balancing a small caseload and ensuring training and assessment activities are delivered to a high standard. You’ll be flexible in your approach, tailoring teaching to meet the individual needs of learners.
