The Opportunity
Barnsley College’s Childcare Department is seeking to appoint two passionate individuals to join our extensive and rapidly growing provision as Childcare Teachers. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who are committed to supporting the development of the next generation of childcare practitioners.
You may already have a proven track record within the childcare sector or within education and be looking for a new and rewarding challenge. Our childcare provision is well established and continues to expand year on year, with student numbers increasing significantly across courses. This growth creates an excellent opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic teachers who are keen to contribute to the ongoing success and future development of the department.
As a Childcare Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering and assessing high quality teaching and learning that positively influences learners’ knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes. You will design and implement engaging lessons and assessment activities that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners and encourage them to develop the professional standards required to succeed within the childcare sector.
You will create a positive and supportive learning environment where learners feel confident, respected and encouraged to reach their full potential.
You will demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills to manage the demands of a busy and growing provision. This includes balancing teaching, assessment, preparation and learner support while maintaining a consistent focus on achievement, progression and learner success.
About You
You will be a motivated, learner focused professional with a genuine passion for childcare education and a strong commitment to helping learners succeed. Whether your experience comes from the childcare sector or an educational setting, you will be driven to inspire, support and develop future childcare practitioners.
You will be confident delivering engaging, high quality teaching, learning and assessment, adapting your approach to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners. Organised and proactive, you will manage your workload effectively while monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement.
You will build positive, supportive relationships with learners and colleagues and work collaboratively to contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
