The Opportunity 

Are you an experienced Electrical Installation professional looking to share your skills and knowledge with the next generation of apprentices?

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Installation Trainer to join our Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them develop industry-standard knowledge, skills and behaviours while preparing for successful end-point assessment.

Working closely with apprentices and employers, you will manage a caseload of learners, delivering practical and theoretical training, conducting workplace assessments and reviews, and providing guidance and support to drive learner progress. You will also contribute to the development of high-quality apprenticeship provision, working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain outstanding teaching, learning and assessment standards.

Whether you already have experience in education and training or are looking to move into the sector from industry, this role offers the opportunity to make a real difference while supporting the future workforce of the electrical installation industry.

About You

You are a motivated and organised individual with industry experience in Electrical Installation and a passion for developing others. You enjoy building positive relationships with learners and employers and are confident providing guidance, assessment and feedback to support apprentices throughout their programme.

We are looking for someone who can deliver engaging learning activities and practical projects, monitor learner progress and support apprentices to achieve their full potential. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a flexible approach to work and the ability to motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.

Most importantly, you will be committed to delivering an outstanding learner experience, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance and supporting apprentices to develop the skills needed for a successful career in the industry.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.

Required

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.

• Assessor Awards (or willingness to work towards)

• Level 4 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) or willingness to work towards

• 18th Edition qualification or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe

• Previous relevant work experience within industry with experience of both domestic and industrial installations
