Are you currently teaching Electrical Installation or working in the electrical industry and considering your next step?

At Barnsley College, we’re actively looking to speak with experienced Electrical Installations Instructors and industry professionals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and shaping the next generation of electricians.

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a rewarding teaching role within our well-established Engineering department, where your industry experience will be genuinely valued. You’ll work as part of a friendly, supportive Electrical team, delivering high quality teaching and practical workshop sessions across Electrical qualifications from Level 2 through to higher level courses.

What stands out about this role is the impact you’ll have. You’ll guide learners as they develop hands on skills, build confidence, and prepare for real careers in the electrical industry. You’ll also contribute to shaping curriculum content that reflects current industry standards, ensuring learners are work ready and employer focused.

You’ll collaborate closely with Course Leaders and colleagues to review and enhance courses, introduce fresh teaching approaches and continuously improve the learner experience. From designing schemes of work and lesson plans to assessing progress and providing constructive feedback, your role will be central to learner success.

If you enjoy mentoring, passing on your trade knowledge and seeing learners progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study, this role offers real job satisfaction without stepping away from the industry you know.
