The Opportunity

Barnsley College is looking for an inspiring, motivated and forward-thinking GCSE Maths Teacher to join our thriving Business Department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high-quality Maths teaching that raises aspirations and supports our learners to progress into employment, further study or apprenticeships.

You will play a key role in delivering GCSE Maths to both 16–18 learners and adult learners, as well as Functional Skills Maths to adults, helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve the qualifications they need for their futures. The role also includes evening delivery, as part of our commitment to offering flexible learning for adult students.

You will become part of a supportive, innovative and friendly Maths and English team who work collaboratively to ensure high achievement, outstanding teaching practice and positive learner experiences. You will have access to shared planning resources, opportunities for co teaching, and regular CPD tailored to Maths delivery.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a strong contribution to curriculum development, bring fresh ideas to teaching strategies and work within a college that champions creativity, inclusivity and learner success.

• Degree in Mathematics (or equivalent qualification)

• TQUK Level 5 Certificate in Education and Training (RQF)

• 2 years’ experience of working within an education setting
