The Opportunity 

Are you passionate about Maths and committed to helping learners achieve their full potential?

Barnsley College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE Maths Teacher to join our Engineering department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support learners studying GCSE Maths, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed both academically and in their future careers.

You will deliver engaging and innovative GCSE Maths lessons, using a range of teaching methods to support learners with varying abilities and learning needs. Working closely with colleagues across the department and wider College, you will contribute to the development of an outstanding curriculum that promotes achievement, progression and positive learner outcomes.

As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum planning and development, create engaging learning materials, monitor learner progress and provide the academic and pastoral support needed to help students achieve their maximum potential. You will also play an active role in supporting recruitment, enrolment and promotional activities, helping to showcase the opportunities available within Barnsley College.

This role is ideal for an ambitious and learner-focused teacher who is passionate about making a difference and supporting students to overcome barriers to success.

About You

You are an adaptable and motivated teacher with a passion for Maths and a commitment to delivering an outstanding learning experience. You thrive on supporting learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities, building positive relationships that encourage confidence, engagement and achievement.

We are looking for someone who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning, create engaging lesson content and provide effective feedback that supports learners to reach their full potential. You will have a strong understanding of the academic and pastoral needs of GCSE Maths learners and be capable of using a variety of teaching approaches to support attendance, retention, achievement and success.

A strong communicator with excellent organisational skills, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, contribute to curriculum planning and support continuous improvement across the department. You will also be committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism, safeguarding and learner support.

Required

• Teaching qualification (must be willing to work towards Level 5 PGCE if not already held)

• A Level in Maths or equivalent Level 3 qualification

• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification)

• Relevant experience working within an education setting 

• Experience of delivering learning to a range of learners

• Experience of developing learning materials
