The Opportunity
Due to an internal promotion to Course Leader, a rare opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Esports team at Barnsley College.
This is an exciting time to become part of a growing curriculum area that continues to attract ambitious learners and develop strong industry links.
Working within our Sports, Public Services, Travel & Tourism department, you will deliver engaging and innovative teaching across a range of Esports programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for progression into higher education and employment.
You will work closely with Course Leaders and colleagues to plan, prepare, deliver and assess high-quality learning experiences that motivate and challenge students to achieve their full potential.
You will also contribute to curriculum development, support enrichment activities, and help build strong partnerships with employers and external organisations within the esports sector.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
Required
• Degree or equivalent Level 4-6 qualification in Esports or a related subject area.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications.
• Level 6 Teaching qualification i.e. PGCE or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
• At least two years' relevant industry experience within esports or a related field.
• Experience of teaching learners aged 16+ or the ability to transfer industry expertise into an educational environment.
• Knowledge and ability to deliver areas such as Esports Events, Coaching, Planning for Sport and Esports, Health, Wellbeing and Fitness, Esports Skills, Strategies and Analysis, and Psychology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and positively influence students and colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Strong IT skills and confidence using digital technologies.
