Contract Type: Permanent | Part Time 26 hours per week

The Opportunity
This is an exciting time to join Barnsley College. Following continued growth, internal promotions and a recent reorganisation, we are creating new opportunities within our successful Sport, Public Services & Travel department.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher in Travel & Tourism to join our dedicated team and help inspire the next generation of travel and tourism professionals. Working alongside Course Leaders, Pathway Leaders and industry partners, you will plan, prepare, deliver and assess engaging learning activities across our Travel & Tourism curriculum, ensuring students are challenged, supported and motivated to achieve their potential.
Our Travel & Tourism provision continues to grow, creating positive opportunities for both learners and staff. You will join a small but focused team with excellent prospects for professional development and career progression.
We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience within the travel industry, including aviation, cabin crew, tourism, hospitality, events management or related sectors. Equally, we welcome applications from teachers who have the passion, knowledge and enthusiasm to develop their career within this exciting curriculum area.

Required
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area or significant industry experience
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 2 or equivalent
• Level 6 Teaching qualification i.e. PGCE or equivalent or
willingness to work towards
• Experience of teaching, coaching, training or developing others
• Knowledge and ability to teach Travel & Tourism subjects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to motivate, inspire and positively influence students
• Commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people
