Learning Support Assistant - Animal Management and Science Department

(Full and Part Time Vacancies Available, Term Time Only, Fixed Term until June 2022)

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individuals to join the Animal Management & Science Department at BCA to work alongside specialist tutors and vocational lecturing staff to provide an outstanding learning experience for our mainstream students. This is an ongoing recruitment-drive and we expect places to be filled very quickly so please ensure you submit your application ASAP so you don’t miss out!

This is an exciting opportunity to offer in-class and, in some instances, out of class support to learners with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and differences within the Department. You will need knowledge and awareness of a variety of approaches to supporting learners inclusive of those that may have emotional/behavioural challenges. You must be a confident communicator, able to work on your own initiative as well as within the team to find the best ways to support our students to an excellent standard. Experience of similar work with post-16 learners would be useful.

Knowledge of animals and science would be desirable but is not essential, equally a good understanding of GCSE maths and English is also desirable. Given the land-based nature of our courses you will need to be prepared to work alongside a range of domesticated and exotic species supporting students in both theory and some practical lessons, many of which take place outdoors.

Please read the attached job description and complete the application form which can be downloaded from FE jobs or found under ‘How to Apply’ on the ‘Work For Us’ page of our website. Completed application forms can be uploaded directly by selecting ‘Apply Now’ or emailed to the HR Department. Please note we cannot accept CV’s.

We will be shortlisting candidates throughout the recruitment-drive so please ensure you submit your application ASAP. Don’t wait until the closing date as you may miss out! If you have any questions please contact the HR team who will be happy to help you.

Closing date: Midnight on Sunday 10th October 2021
