Engineering Department

Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering

FTE 1.0 Full time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

£27,339.10 - £37,312.88 per annum

Successful candidates must have a passion for engineering and the ability to enthuse and motivate young engineers of the future. Previous experience of working with young people would be advantageous. You must have the drive, determination and desire to make a difference to young people’s lives through education.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background within Mechanical Engineering with excellent industry experience, a relevant Engineering degree as well as a teaching qualification; however if the vocational experience is outstanding we will accept an alternative level 6 qualifications and will provide training and support to achieve the required teaching qualifications.

You will also hold or be willing to work towards accredited vocational assessor and internal verifier qualifications.

Main areas of work:

• Mechanical Engineering courses up to and including level 5.

• Mechanical engineering theory.

Experience of working with CAD would be an advantage, but is not essential for this post.
