Tiverton High School is seeking an ambitious, passionate and highly effective leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher Inclusion (SENDCo). This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND leader to drive our vision of ensuring every child achieves, belongs and participates, enabling a life of choice and opportunity.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead our well-established SEND Faculty and oversee all aspects of inclusion across the school. You will champion the needs of students with SEND and other vulnerabilities, ensuring that every young person receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Working closely with senior leaders, staff, families and external agencies, you will provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusion, drive whole-school improvement, and ensure that provision is ambitious, effective and fully compliant with statutory requirements.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven leadership experience in SEND and inclusion within a secondary setting.
- Has a strong understanding of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
- Has a successful track record of improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
- Can inspire colleagues and lead the development of high-quality inclusive teaching practices.
- Is committed to ensuring that every student feels safe, valued, supported and able to succeed.
- Holds QTS and either possesses the National Award for SEND Coordination or is willing to work towards it.
