Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic teacher with a profound love for Chemistry? Are you ready to inspire and guide the next generation of scientists at an outstanding sixth form college?

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join our exceptional team. Staff at Bexhill College are dedicated to developing a love for learning and empowering our students to reach their full potential. Our commitment to academic excellence is unwavering, and we believe that a great teacher can change lives. This was recognised in our recent Ofsted inspection in January 2024 where we achieved ‘Outstanding’.

The successful candidate will teach A level Chemistry as well as the chemistry elements of level 3 and level 2 Applied Science courses. The successful candidate may also contribute to the chemistry elements of the GCSE science course.

There is an opportunity to be the ‘subject lead’ for Chemistry. Subject leads take responsibility for subjects under the direction of the Head of Section. They are responsible for the quality of the subjects allocated to them and lead of curriculum planning and development including the incorporation of work related learning activities and enrichment which enhances the learning experience for students studying chemistry. The subject lead attracts an additional off scale payment. Applicants should state on their application form if they are interested in this role.

The teaching role is suitable for experienced teachers as well as ECTs. The College offers the ECT programme.

Previous post 16 experience is not essential. This is an ideal opportunity for a chemistry teacher who is interested in moving from pre-16 into post 16 work. You will be working within an experienced, supportive science team.

This post is from September 2024. The post attracts a competitive salary, excellent pension scheme and generous holiday allowance. This is a full time role however, applications from teachers wishing to work part time would be considered.

Closing date: 9.00am on Wednesday 1st May. The College reserves the right to interview and appoint suitable candidates prior to the closing date.
