Temporary Teaching Assistants SEBD 21 hours/39 weeks (Term time only)

The Governors are seeking to appoint a part-time Teaching Assistant to cover a shortfall in support staff within the Social Emotional Behaviour Difficulties (SEBD) provision. The post will commence on 6th November 2023 and will be temporary until 31st August 2024 in the first instance.
The Teaching Assistant will work under the direction and guidance of the SEBD coordinator to undertake learning support programs enabling pupils to overcome barriers to learning. Working under an agreed system of supervision, the Teaching Assistant will provide support to the variety of SEBD provisions and pupils on individual timetables. Some children within SEBD have special additional learning needs. The Teaching Assistant will assist in the development and implementation of learning plans and activities helping youngsters to develop confidence, social skills and positive behaviour.
The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has a good working knowledge of child development and learning. They must be able to relate well to young people, and have the ability to develop constructive working relationships with other staff, parents and outside agencies. The role will require a person with excellent behaviour management and communication skills, alongside being able to demonstrate a flexible approach and an encouraging, nurturing nature.
This post has a First Aid responsibility. Training will be provided.
