As an Academy with profound ideals based upon our Christian foundation, we strive to introduce Christian aspects of teaching into all that we do. Each year the school raises money for a charity voted for by all members of the school, usually we help a charity at home one year and abroad the next.

During College Form time each day all students participate in an act of worship which includes time for prayer and reflection. There is also a weekly assembly in St. Matthew’s Church when the whole Academy gathers to enjoy thought provoking talks and performances.

We hold regular meetings for staff and students, during which prayers are said and thoughts are focused on people in need.

The Christian Union meet regularly and the students involved are instrumental in spreading the word of Christianity, taking assemblies to Junior schools as ‘The Blue Coat Christian Road Show’.

As an Academy we strive to foster a caring attitude towards the wider global community in which we live. Each year we raise money for a charity voted for by all students. In 2015 students raised over £4,400 for Teenage Cancer Trust.
