We are seeking a Head of Centre - Children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to join our team at West Ewell Primary School and Nursery, part of Bourne Education Trust.
As Head of Centre, you will be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the department, ensuring equity of opportunity for all, achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct. All teachers are required to carry out the professional duties and responsibilities of a schoolteacher as defined by ‘Teachers’ Standards’ and set out in the current ‘School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document’.

Position: Head of Centre - Children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
Contract: Full time, permanent
Hours: 32.5 hours per week
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: Teachers Main to Upper Pay Scale (Fringe: £33,074-£50,470 + SEN £2,679 + TLR2)

Key responsibilities include:
• Ensure excellent standards of teaching & learning across the Specialist Resource Provision (SRP)
• Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the SRP, including self evaluation and the improvement plan for the SRP
• Monitor student progress and implement strategic intervention for the SRP
• Develop the curriculum, schemes of work and assessment across all key stages
Requirements include:
Essential
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children.
• Experience of supporting children with EHCPs or SEND
Desirable
• NASENCo/NPQ Qualified
• Mentoring/coaching experience
