The Governors wish to appoint an ambitious, innovative and talented teacher who is committed to raising achievement and shares the vision of excellence within Maesteg School’s Mathematics and Numeracy Faculty. The post will also be responsible for coordinating Numeracy as a core skill across the school. The successful applicant will have the ability to teach across the age and range of the school, including A-level Mathematics.

The development of Maths continues to be a central aspect of the school’s development plan and both the Governors and the Senior Leadership Team are committed to ensuring that the Maths Faculty is supported to achieve excellence in standards, provision and leadership. The Maths Leadership Team also includes a Head of Maths and a Teaching and Learning Champion. Distributed leadership across the whole Faculty ensures that all teachers are involved in creating and sustaining an ethos of reflection and improvement. Numbers for A-Level classes are also high as a result of the experience learners have in other year groups in the subject. We would therefore welcome applications from candidates who are able to deliver A-level or have aspirations to do so.
