Reach and Connect Co - Ordinator
Join Briarwood School’s innovative Reach and Connect service, offering outreach support for children with SEND in mainstream and other specialist schools.
About the Role:
In collaboration with the Head of Reach and Connect and Specialist Outreach Teacher, to coordinate and manage the operational delivery of short-term and different provision packages for pupils unable to access full-time school the post holder will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of these bespoke programmes, with a constant focus on supporting the eventual reintegration of pupils into a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, coordinate, and adapt bespoke pupil timetables and alternative learning packages across Reach & Connect provisions, ensuring all activities and interventions are purposeful, inclusive, and demonstrably linked to individual EHCP outcomes and meaningful pupil progress.
- Oversee staffing rotas, transport arrangements, community bookings, project tracking, and resource management to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient delivery of provision across school and community learning environments.
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment by maintaining accurate records, monitoring attendance and welfare concerns, managing risk assessments and behaviour plans, and ensuring all documentation meets safeguarding, legislative, and organisational standards.
- Provide effective line management, mentoring, training, and professional guidance to Reach & Connect staff, ensuring consistent implementation of SEND strategies, de-escalation approaches, and evidence-informed practice across all provisions.
- Act as a key liaison for pupils and families, maintaining strong communication with parents, community teams, ALP providers, and external professionals to quality assure provision, monitor pupil outcomes, and coordinate effective multi-agency support.
- Support the ongoing development of Reach & Connect projects through the preparation of project briefs, provision maps, SLAs, reports, and outcome evaluations, ensuring services remain responsive, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational priorities and pupil needs.

- Excellent understanding of working with children/young people with SEND and complex needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt strategies to meet diverse and evolving needs.
- Ability to motivate colleagues and have energy, enthusiasm and perseverance with a positive approach to education
- Experience working with children in educational settings is highly desirable.

This is a full time permanent role - term time only (32.5hrs per week Monday - Friday) NB: part time hours may be considered at interview
