Head of School  - Juniors

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the leadership team at Briarwood School as Head of School for Juniors.

Briarwood School operates across four sites, in East, Central and South Bristol, with an additional alternative education provision based at the Secondary Site.  The school caters for pupils aged 3 to 19 years with a range of needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with behaviours that challenge, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and complex medical needs.

The main purpose of this role is to ensure that the educational, personal and social needs of all learners within your designated school are met to a high standard.  As Head of School, you will bring significant experience of working with young people with SEND, alongside a strong understanding of current research and outstanding practice.

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in driving pupil progress and achievement.  You will also be responsible for the effective management of the school's infrastructure, environment and resources, ensuring a safe, supportive and high-quality learning environment for all. 

 

The post is full time,  5 days a week, terms and conditions are reflected in Standard Teachers Pay & Conditions 2025.
