The Role
This key post as a temporary, part time (0.60 to 0.70 FTE dependant on experience) Law Teacher (KS5), is available from 1 September 2025, subject to satisfactory clearances, to cover maternity leave. Additional hours may be available if the successful candidate is able to offer other subjects that meet our curriculum needs. As a maternity cover post this contract will last for a maximum of 52 weeks or until the post holder returns should this be earlier.
In addition to Law, the group of Social Science Post 16 subjects contains Psychology, Sociology, and Health and Social Care (also taught at KS4). Teachers of these various Post 16 subjects collaborate in developing creative and effective approaches to teaching and learning. Law recruits particularly strongly in the Sixth Form with typically two classes in each year group. Students enjoy the subject, achieve well, and many decide to pursue Law further through the university and apprenticeship routes.
