Job Title: Learning Mentor

Actual Annual Salary:  £23,288 - £25,407

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £30,963 - £33,779 (CLF Grade D).  Based on 37 hours per week.

Contract Type: Permanent, Term time only + insets day

Hours: Part-time, 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours per day)

Start Date: 1 September 2025

Broadoak Academy is looking for a Learning Mentor to join their supportive and talented team: 

The Learning Mentor will provide pastoral care and actively engage with the safeguarding team to protect and support our community members. You will work with and support designated students to overcome barriers to learning by identifying specific difficulties and creating solutions. They will promote effective participation, encourage pride in achievement and raise aspirations to enable students to achieve to their full potential. They will deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as their social and emotional well-being. 

The postholder will promote high expectations and high standards for a designated cohort of students. They will monitor and support academic and social development with specific students and work with other members of the pastoral and inclusion teams to support a designated student cohort

About you:

You will have:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills evidenced by 5 GCSE’s grades C or above
  • Understanding of a range of issues that can affect young people and disadvantaged sections of community.
  • Knowledge of a relevant range of support services
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
