Links sits within the Brunel Autism Support and Inclusion Services (BASIS) and is a specialist environment offering personalised and bespoke curriculums to our YP – including horse riding, cooking, farm trips to name a few.
Due to expansion, we are looking to employ an additional teacher to support our Bespoke SEND Learners. This will include specialist teaching of YP ages 11-17 years SEND/ASC/SCID in small groups or as individuals.
We would like to hear from you if:
• You are a class teacher (at any stage in your career) or SENDCo passionate about improving the outcomes for YP~
• You enjoy going to the farm and taking part in forest school sessions
• You have a background in either Primary or Secondary education
• You are enthusiastic about working with small groups or individuals with complex needs
• You wish to have an impact delivering a bespoke curriculum
• You want to make a difference in the lives of our YP
• You enjoy working with a YP focussed team
Your Experience
Our job description and person specification attached contain the full areas of skills and experience, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include:
• Hold QTS
• Experience of working with YP with SEND and/or Autism and Social Communication & Interaction Difficulties
• Knowledge of leading outdoor learning experiences
• Have knowledge and understanding of the autistic profile of need
• Have good organisational and time management skills
• An effective English communicator both written and verbal
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have up to date IT skills
Hours: 32.5hr pw
Allowance: SEN1
