Due to our continued growth, we are looking to appoint 4 experienced Senior Teaching Assistants as we are set to open a new satellite provision in Swindon town centre. You will be part of an exciting phase as we work together to meet the end goal of our Trust: to collaborate and build a successful community of mainstream schools and SEND provisions to ensure our students have the education they deserve.

Your Role

The attached job description will detail your role in full.

  • Provide tailored support (individuals and groups of) to students to enable them to gain, learn from, develop and maintain their work and living skills and to make a positive progression on to the next stage of education or paid sustainable employment
  • To provide simple medical aid as and when necessary
  • To provide care as required, which may include personal care and support for mental health and well-being
  • To observe students, monitor and report back, using verbal or written methods, to the teaching team on problems, progress and possible developmental needs
  • Plan learning activities for a class or small group, under direction of the Teacher or Lead professional

Your Experience

Our person specification attached will contain the full areas of skills and experience, but it is really important to us that you feel comfortable and confident in your role, so although you may not have everything desirable, there are some essential features our appointee will need to have and these include:

  • Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy (or NVQ equivalent)
  • Any Level 3 Qualification can be vocational and not specific to role
  • Essential Digital ICT skills
  • Experience of working with students with SEND

Training: It is important to us to ensure you feel valued and supported in this exciting, rewarding and important role that you undertake therefore, relative training will be provided to the appointed applicant upon starting.
