The Opportunity

Brunel Academies Trust are a proud, growing educational community with a vision to be an exceptional creative education family opening doors, opening minds and changing lives. We strive to significantly improve the life chances and outcomes for our children and young people (CYP) whether they are within our SEND provisions or mainstream schools.

As a growing Multi Academy Trust, now is a fantastic time to join our community of school support professionals. Uplands School is a high performing secondary school for students aged 11- 19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders. Our school is not like any other. It is unique, with a group of inspiring students and a team of supportive, nurturing and dedicated Teaching Assistants and Class Teachers who strive to give our students the most positive learning experiences possible as they move into adulthood.

Your role will be pivotal to our students and as part of the wider organisation’s community network. You will be part of an exciting phase as we work together to meet the end goal of our Trust: to collaborate and build a successful community of mainstream schools and SEND provisions to ensure our students have the education they deserve.

What do our employees say about working at Uplands?

“The very special students and dedicated team members are what motivate me”.

“Working here gives true perspective of how the small things in life for most people are a huge journey for our young people but helping and seeing them succeed makes you realise what we do every day can impact on someone not just for the school day, but for the rest of their lives”.

“The internal feeling you will get from supporting the young people to help manage life will make all the hard work worth it”.

“You reap what you sow. Not everything is achievable first time round, but with time, patience and perseverance, the rewards are endless”.

“You know that you, as a team member, are proud to be part of that student’s journey and that has made a difference (however big or small)”.

“With the support of Uplands I have been able to further my career and work in a really rewarding job”
