Our provision supports students who are struggling to thrive in mainstream school, offering short- and medium-term placements designed to reset, re-engage and prepare them for a successful return or next step pathway.

Guided by our ethos to safeguard, inspire, encourage and support growth, you will deliver a balanced and broad curriculum that helps every young person progress academically, socially and emotionally.

About the role

As a Teacher at Engage, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across a broad curriculum, tailored to meet individual needs
  • Support students to re-engage with education, develop positive learning behaviours and build confidence
  • Plan and adapt teaching for learners with additional needs, barriers to learning and SEMH challenges
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
  • Contribute to bespoke learning programmes that balance academic progress with personal development
  • Work closely with families, referring schools and external professionals to support each student’s journey
  • Take part in fortnightly review meetings, ensuring provision remains responsive and impactful
  • Prepare students for reintegration into mainstream education or next steps, including further education or employment pathways
  • Promote the values of respect, care, equity and partnership in all aspects of school life

About you

You will be:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) with strong classroom practice
  • Experienced in, or highly motivated to work within, an alternative provision or inclusive setting
  • Skilled at delivering adaptive, personalised teaching to meet a wide range of needs
  • A strong communicator, able to build effective relationships with students, families and professionals
  • Patient, resilient and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable learners
  • Passionate about behaviour change, re-engagement and improving life chances
  • Committed to teamworking and reflective practice within a collaborative environment
  • Highly competent in the Teachers’ Standards, with sustained impact if applying for UPS

Applicants are advised to refer to the full requirements of the role in the attached job description and person specification, prior to submitting an application.
