<p><strong>Qualified Science Teacher</strong></p>

<p><strong>Location: Southlands School, Lymington</strong></p>

<p><strong>Hours: 40 per week - 39 weeks per annum</strong></p>

<p><strong>Salary: Up to &pound;42,000 per annum</strong></p>

<p>The role a teacher at Southlands School, an Ofsted rated Outstanding autism specialist setting, is vitally important in ensuring our student&rsquo;s flourish. The demands of working in specialist education require flexibility, adaptability and enthusiasm from the post holder.</p>

<p>At Southlands School there is an emphasis on high quality teaching and learning where purposeful teaching, high expectations, the monitoring of progress and positive reinforcement through a robust pastoral system, are a must. The Education Team works together with the Clinical and Care Teams to meet the needs of our students, offer a shared vision and goals and ensure positive home-school partnerships.</p>

<p><strong>Candidate Profile</strong></p>

<p>We are looking for somebody who has drive and vision and who is passionate about the teaching profession and committed to a high quality service. If you have an interest in working with special needs students this is an ideal place to use your skills in this highly rewarding and challenging field of education. Our teaching takes place in small classes with Teaching Assistant support. Working as part of a committed team, we need someone who can cater for the diverse needs of our students, therefore you need to be:</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements</strong></p>

<li>Qualified Teacher Status</li>
<li>Current car driving license with no disqualifications or serious offences within past 3 years (only scored where minibus driving required)</li>
</ul>

<p>The main responsibilities are following schemes of work, lesson planning, delivering the curriculum to a class group and supporting students with ASD in learning activities and personal skills.&nbsp;</p>

<p>You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and memorable learning experiences, following Southlands School curriculum and you will have the opportunity to work as part of an integrated skilled multi-disciplinary team, aiming to expand the horizons and improve the skills of young people.</p>

<p>The young people we educate and care for come to us with a huge variety of needs and difficulties. Our challenge is to help them build the hope, confidence, knowledge and skills to unlock their potential.</p>
