Location: Grateley House School, Grateley, Andover, Hampshire SP11 8TA

Salary: £20,792.52

Hours: 37 hours/week – Permanent / Term time only

•          Monday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

•          Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

•          Wednesday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

•          Thursday: 8:30am – 4:30pm

•          Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm

 It is preferred that applicants hold a driving licence with a view to driving the school vehicles.

About Us

Grateley House School is a successful 38-week specialist day school for young people aged 11–19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (typically high functioning and/or with associated disorders). Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, we provide a broad, balanced, and challenging curriculum, preparing students for successful lives beyond school.

We currently support 36 students, with planned growth over the next three years.

 

About the Role

This is a rewarding role suited to individuals motivated to support children and young people with special educational needs. It’s also excellent experience for anyone considering a career in teaching. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

 

Key responsibilities include:


Supporting students in lessons and during non-structured time
Transporting and supporting students at college (driving required)
Assisting teachers with preparation of work, resources, and equipment
Supporting students during on- and off-site activities
Completing paperwork to record observations and interventions


 

What we’re looking for


Previous classroom experience desirable but not essential – full training given
Minimum of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Commitment to personal learning and development
Enthusiastic, focused, and resilient attitude
