We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Skills Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining effective relationships with employers to support their skills development initiatives, while maximising opportunities available for our students including work placements and apprenticeships.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify and nurture effective working relationships with employers and businesses in alignment with the College’s Employer Engagement Strategy.
  • Achieve sales targets and KPIs as set by the Director of Employer Engagement.
  • Proactively engage with employers to promote and secure new engagement opportunities within the College.
  • Provide appropriate information, advice, and guidance to employers regarding their business skills needs using a consultative approach.
  • Collaborate closely with curriculum departments to understand and promote their offerings, and provide feedback on employer demand for alternative provision.
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems in a timely manner.
  • Proactively market and promote the range of opportunities available to new and existing employers and potential learners.
  • Engage with lead generation partners to secure new leads.
  • Participate in marketing activities such as open evenings, business events, careers fairs, and networking meetings.
  • Liaise with candidates, employers, and curriculum departments to ensure required documentation is completed in line with internal processes and funding rules.
  • Collate feedback from employers on the service provided and handle difficulties or problems using initiative.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in a sales or business development role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the education and training sector is advantageous.
