Cambridge Regional College are currently looking for a dynamic lecturer to join our International and Access teams based at Cambridge & Huntingdon.

About the role:

Cambridge Campus:  You will be required to deliver AS level equivalent Psychology units to a group of visiting Norwegian students who are coming to Cambridge to be taught their Norwegian curriculum in English from 3rd October to 30th March (22 weeks). Max of 10 hr per week.

Huntingdon Campus: You will be responsible for the delivery of the mandatory Sociology units on the Access to HE (Health Professions) Course.  These are Introduction to Sociology (3 credits) and Sociology of Health & Illness (3 credits).  This will be 2 hr per week until mid March.  Max 24 weeks.

You will need to prepare all lessons and keep the college’s Moodle pages up to date to support learning.  As part of the role, you will also be required to assess and internally moderate students’ work and participate in External verifier meetings.  You will need to follow quality assurance processes both within the college and as part of the awarding body’s requirements.

What we are looking for in our role:

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, i.e. Sociology, you are an inspirational teacher who makes full use of active learning strategies.  You have the ability to support the development of transferable study skills in preparation for either HE or employment.  You will need to discuss student issues with other team members and work collaboratively to ensure excellent retention and success.  You will have a willingness to share good practice and collaborate with Access teams.  To ensure excellent recruitment onto the pathways, you may also be able to participate in taster days with other team members.
