About this Motor Vehicle teaching role:

This exciting role will involve the design and delivery of Motor Vehicle and associated courses to a wide range of students, in both practical and theoretical settings. The job role will also include contributing to the continued development of the Department, providing tutorial support for learners, and carrying out the associated administrative tasks connected with the position.

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job are to:

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday and summer periods
  • Undertake tutorial responsibilities
  • Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students
  • Team administration, liaison and development
  • Professional development and industrial links

What we are looking for in our Motor Vehicle teacher:

  • A minimum of a level 3 vocational qualification in Motor vehicle service and repair
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and maths
  • Substantial, recent and relevant industrial experience
  • Recent teaching, instructing or training experience
  • Current Health & safety knowledge for the industry
  • Knowledge of the current qualifications
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Good organisational skills able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to motivate people of all ages and abilities
  • Ability to cultivate good working relationships with colleagues and work as part of a team

Although previous teaching experience is preferable, consideration would be given to candidates who demonstrate a high level of commitment to move their career to the Further Education sector and work as part of an outstanding team
