We are looking foa Resource Technician to support the work of the department at both our Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses. The days and hours at each campus are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful applicant.Key responsibilities of the technician role:To maintain the teaching and learning areas in a clean and safe working environment, prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical sessions and demonstrations.Order stock, accept deliveries and maintain clear and accurate records, ensuring stock levels are adequate at all times and spend is within budgetsLiaise with the Head of Department and other CHEY staff to ensure smooth operation of teaching and learning activities supporting students in a non-teaching capacityYou will also assist in the recruitment and admission of new students and keep accurate records of interviews and offers, liaising with the College Admission team. The role is primarily on-site but we do offer agile working on a case by case bases depending on personal circumstances and business need. What we are looking for in our role:
A self-motivated, creative and flexible individual with good interpersonal, administrative and communication skills.You will be organised and able to meet deadlines showing attention to detail and have the ability to cultivate good working relationships with colleagues and students.A L2/3 qualification in administration or a similar area, competent IT skills and experience of practical crafts and good health and safety knowledge are essential to this role.All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).The College reserves the right to fill this vacancy ahead of the closing date if a suitable candidate is found.
