Enfield Veg Co Administrator

Part Time, Permanent (days TBC but Wednesday Mornings essential)

14.4 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Forty Hall Farm

Salary: £8,386.80-£8,726.80pa inclusive of London Weighting. Salary based on Business and Learning Support grade

Capel Manor College is the only College in London that aims to deliver outstanding and inspirational and environmental land-based learning opportunities across the Greater London region. Our most recent Ofsted report rated the College “good” with good effectiveness of leadership and management. Aspiring to excellence, the College has an excellent reputation for quality, is financially strong and has continuous growth in student numbers. Fundamental to the College’s forward-thinking strategy is support for the environment and food supply in Greater London and the southeast

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veg Box Administrator to join the team at Forty Hall Farm – a historic, diverse, Soil Association-certified mixed farm which incorporates a nine-acre market garden, a 12-acre vineyard, a community orchard, extensive livestock production and woodland over its 150 acres.

Enfield Veg Co is a local veg box scheme, distributing bags of locally grown, seasonal organic veg across Enfield every week. The majority of the veg is grown at Forty Hall Farm, with additional produce sourced from other organic growers in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of customer management and marketing of the scheme. You will be the main point of contact for customers, responding to any problems and requests, and will provide weekly membership figures to the Head Grower in order to facilitate the planning of the contents of the weekly veg bags.

The ideal candidate will able to produce a range of written material including a weekly newsletter, copy for the website as well as other marketing material. You will work to steadily increase both membership of the scheme and the number of pick-up points across the borough, and will be able to shape the strategy required to achieve this, liaising with other farm staff and the College marketing team as required.

The job is part-time and would be complimentary to the Assistant Grower position being currently advertised, should you wish to undertake both roles.

What’s in it for you?

We offer the opportunity to help develop your skills and knowledge in a friendly team environment, plus a range of benefits including a career average pension scheme (LGPS), employee assistance programme and full access to Capel Gardens.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We are committed to creating and promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce that better reflects the wider community we support. We particularly welcome applicants from groups currently under-represented in senior roles, including females, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME), people with disabilities and from the LGBTQ community.

Closing Date: 11 December 2022
