Make a Meaningful Impact Behind the Scenes at Capital City College

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Careers and Employability Adviser to join our vibrant Enterprise, Employability and Careers (EEC) team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference, supporting young people and adults to unlock their potential and take the next step towards university, apprenticeships, employment, or enterprise.

About the Role - Careers and Employability Advisor

This role is offered on a fixed term basis. We have one role available at our London, Angel Centre (fixed term contract from October 2025 -July 2026) and one role available at our London, Kings Cross Centre (fixed term contract starting immediately until July 2026).

In this role, you will collaborate with the EEC Manager, curriculum teams, and a wide range of external partners to design and deliver an inspiring careers programme that meets the Matrix Standard and Gatsby Benchmarks. Your work will include one-to-one guidance, targeted group sessions, and leading high-profile activities such as careers fairs, employer masterclasses, and university visits. A key part of your role will be helping learners to build the skills and confidence they need for the workplace while also championing widening participation. You will need to be confident engaging with groups of students, delivering in classroom settings, and representing the service in front of employers, universities, and other stakeholders

About you:

* Provide one-to-one careers guidance tailored to individual needs
* Deliver group sessions on HE pathways, apprenticeships, employability and enterprise
* Advise students on Student Finance and bursary support options
* Coordinate careers events, workshops, and university visits

You will hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance or equivalent (essential for shortlisting) and have experience of working in a similar role within an educational setting. You will be a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students from a range of backgrounds. A clear understanding of post-18 pathways including UCAS, apprenticeships and vocational routes is essential.
