About the role:
We are looking for an experienced leader and manager with high expectations of staff and students to lead the Science curriculum area at City and Islington Sixth Form College. You will lead a large team of staff who teach A level subjects in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and PE and the successful postholder will be expected to teach in one of these areas, although a specialist in Chemistry is desirable. These subjects are popular choices for students at the Sixth Form and the department has a long record of success.
We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, innovative, care about students and want to work in a supportive and friendly environment. City and Islington Sixth Form College is a well-established and over-subscribed specialist A-level centre, with 1600 on roll. We are situated on one site at the Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. All teachers are expected to be pastoral tutors to a group of up to 22 A level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students' confidence and skills.
We are looking for a curriculum leader to join the team in January 2023.
