About the role:

City and Islington College are looking for an outstanding Careers Adviser with experience of all aspects of post-16 guidance work and a proven ability in supporting young people with their progression into higher education, employability and apprenticeships. Our Careers programme is Matrix accredited and we are committed to achieving The Gatsby Benchmarks. You will be experienced in providing individual guidance and delivering high quality and relevant career-related enrichment events and activities to prepare students for their next steps. We are always looking for ways to improve the careers provision, ensuring it is relevant and student-focused. Developing student employability skills is a key aspect of the role and we have established a high-quality support programme for those seeking alternatives to university.

About you:


With appropriate experience and qualifications reflecting a strong background in careers education. You will have to have completed a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification (only those with a Level 6+ will be considered for interview). Knowledge and understanding of the 14-19 curriculum plus 19+ Access to HE students, T-levels and the ability to effectively communicate with and counsel students. If you are enthusiastic, innovative, care about students and want to work in a supportive and friendly environment, this may be the job for you. City and Islington CBAT campus is well-established and over-subscribed. We are situated on one site in the heart of London, and our wonderful students travel from across the city to learn with us.

About CANDI


City Islington College is an award-winning further education college in London with centres in Holloway, Angel and Finsbury Park. The College offers a huge array of academic and vocational courses from entry levels right through to HE for young and adult learners. These include foundation learning, A-Levels, BTECs, Apprenticeships, Access to Higher Education. The College also works closely with all stakeholders and offers bespoke training and development programmes.

Our Sixth Form centre located on our Angel Campus offers over 30 A Level subjects to our students, one of the largest choices in the UK, providing high level academic study for around 1,800 students wishing to progress to university.
