About the Role: Lecturer in Media

As a Lecturer in Media Studies, you will play a vital role in supporting our learners to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. You will deliver high-quality teaching, contribute to curriculum development, and support students through both academic and pastoral guidance.

This role is offered on a part time, (0.8 FTE) permanent basis.

We are looking for passionate and skilled lecturers to teach A level in Media Studies. We are seeking an experienced teacher and subject lead to teach and lead A-Level Media Studies. In this role, you will deliver engaging and innovative lessons to Year 12 and Year 13 students, fostering a love for Media Studies and guiding them toward academic and professional success. As the Subject Lead, you will take responsibility for planning and preparing the curriculum, ensuring excellence in its delivery. You will work closely with the Curriculum Leader to track student progress, monitor attendance and retention, and uphold the high standards of teaching and learning expected in our institution.

In addition to teaching, you will lead a dedicated team of Media Studies educators, ensuring collaboration and continuous improvement within the department. You will oversee key responsibilities such as organising field trips, managing exam entries and assessments, and contributing to the development and review of teaching materials. Your leadership will also involve building partnerships with external institutions and supporting professional development activities, as well as contributing to curriculum reviews and data analysis to enhance quality.

Whether you are an experienced lecturer, a newly qualified teacher, or a skilled professional looking to take the next step into education, we encourage you to apply. At Capital City College, we believe great teaching comes from passion, dedication, and real-world experience. We are proud to support all our lecturers with ongoing professional development, mentoring, and opportunities to grow within a vibrant and diverse London learning community.
