Capital City College is seeking to appoint enthusiastic and skilled Optics Lecturer to join our dynamic London-based team.



About the Role

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Ophthalmic Dispensing to teach and assess on the Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing to adult learners. The role will involve delivery to students in their final year of study and the successful candidate will deliver elements of the curriculum such as low vision, contact lenses, ocular anatomy and refraction.

The role is currently one day per week with the potential to increase in line with curriculum growth. The role will be based in the Health Academy Department in the Centre for Applied Sciences at our Angel campus.

About the Team

About You

You will be a registered Optometrist, have experience of working within the sector and have relevant experience in teaching or training. You will also hold or be willing to obtain a recognised teaching qualification. You will be used to maintaining professional and quality standards and keeping high quality documentation.

We're looking for a passionate and committed individual with:

* Proven experience in Optics
* Teach and assess on the Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic Dispensing to adult learners
* Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
* A commitment to inclusive, learner-focused teaching
* A recognised teaching qualification (or a willingness to achieve one)

You should be confident in delivering to a diverse range of learners and ready to inspire them to achieve their full potential.
