Salary: £28,178 - £38,054 (FTE) per annum

Hourly Rate: £14.65 - £19.78 per hour, plus holiday and prep uplift

(Salary dependent on qualifications and experience)

Contract: Fractional, Permanent Contract 35% - 13 hours

Required: Immediate start available

Working hours:

Monday 6pm-8pm

Tuesday 11:30am-8pm including travel

Friday 9am-12pm

We are seeking an exceptional adult English teacher, with a successful track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning in both Functional Skills and ESOL.

The successful candidate would take on responsibility for four of our current classes with the opportunity to take on more hours as the provision grows.

The successful applicant will have experience in delivering innovative and creative teaching and learning and possess an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of curriculum delivery. They will also have the ability to use inspiring teaching methods and produce engaging teaching materials.

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Have a good understanding of English Language learning – preferably Functional skills.
  • Have a good understanding of ESOL skills for life – ideally Pearson Edexcel
  • Have experience working with adult students from various experiences and backgrounds.
  • Be able to motivate students and help them enjoy learning English.
  • Work independently
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Closely monitor students’ progress and alert relevant parties to emerging issues
  • Have recent experience of teaching in the Further Education Sector
  • Hold a CELTA, DTLLS, PCET, PGCE or QCF Level 5 Diploma in Education, or demonstrate a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job
