The college is seeking to employ a qualified, experienced Director of SEND (SENDCo) to lead our committed Inclusion Team. Our successful candidate will be joining an innovative and supportive Inclusion Team in a vibrant, well-resourced learning environment. You will be supported by an Assistant SENDCo, SEND Administrator, a team of Teaching Assistants and HTLAs. You will enthuse and inspire your colleagues with a clear vision and a ‘can do’ attitude towards continual improvement.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a leader who will share in our educational vision – ‘Ambition for All’ so that all students, especially those with SEND, can succeed both now and in the future.

The SENDCo, working in partnership with our Senior Deputy Headteacher, will have an important voice in shaping the strategic direction of SEND provision in the school. They will lead and manage our provision for students with Special Educational Needs on a day-to-day basis to ensure our students receive the support and opportunity they need to thrive. They will have a deep understanding of how children with Special Educational Needs learn and have a proven track record of great teaching and developing others to ensure they can respond to the needs of our students in the classroom.

 Who are we?

In recent years, we have made huge changes to ensure that ambition sits at the heart of everything we do. The changes we have made to curriculum, behaviour and personal development programs have seen us deliver the best exam results we have ever had by some considerable margin.

For the successful candidate we can offer you:

  • a school where we are truly ambitious for the community that we serve
  • a supportive and purposeful induction programme for all staff including mentoring and coaching
  • evidence driven and research informed CPD that is tailored to your teaching practice
  • a fantastic, well-resourced inspiring learning environment
