We have Learning Assistant positions available at our Ashley Down Centre (A number of Part time positions, term time only) supporting learners with complex and profound disabilities / learning difficulties on the colleges Sensory provision. Successful candidates will be enthusiastic, professional people who will be responsible for delivering an effective, high quality additional learning support service.
We are looking for people with experience of providing personal care, mobility support, communication support (including Makaton), medication support and behavioural support for young people with additional needs. This experience may have been gained in the care, health or educational sector.
Knowledge of Additional Support services, including Education, Health and Care plans is positively received, although a commitment to personal and professional learning and developing is most important, so do apply if you are yet to learn about this fully. You will join a committed team, who work closely with students and other college staff, to reduce barriers to learning, increase opportunities towards improved outcomes, maximise success, enable greater autonomy and develop further independence for all learners.
We welcome applications from people with experience in a variety of areas, including youth work, mental health, learning disabilities and other support roles. Candidates will work toward a L3 in their general education as part of further development within the role.
