Apprenticeship Trainer – Carpentry & Joinery
Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 (FTE)
Contract: Full time, permanent
Location: Ashley Down Centre however due to the nature of the role travel across the Bristol, South Gloucester and North Somerset area will be required
What will you be doing?
City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint a resilient, enthusiastic and proactive NVQ Assessor to join our dedicated team in the Wood Trades Department in Construction. You will be responsible for a caseload of Site Carpentry and Bench Joinery NVQ students, which will require you to visit them in their work place assessing their professional competencies, reviewing their progress on a regular basis and using an electronic portfolio system.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience working as a carpenter or joiner and qualified to NVQ level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery. An assessor’s qualification and experience in assessing would be an advantage, though an attitude toward developing your assessing skills would be highly appreciated.
The right person needs to be confident in working in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with Colleagues, Students and Stakeholders both internally and externally.
