What will you be doing?

City of Bristol College has an exciting opportunity for a Study Coach to work with young people within the Foundation Learning Department in supporting them to achieve their potential and to progress into work or further learning.

As a Study Coach you will deliver tutorials (usually weekly), provide pastoral support and work with the Curriculum teams to support the removal of barriers to learning and in learning so that students who are Off Track in their studies become On Track. You will also work with the Curriculum Teams to recognise, celebrate and support On Track students to reach their full potential

A key part of your role will be to focus on rapid intervention strategies in order to support students who are Off Track. Strategies will include liaising with teachers to ensure active engagement and strong attainment in all aspects of study, action-planning and robust target-setting, as well as communicating with parents and other stakeholders.

Our aim is to ensure all students, regardless of their starting point, receive an outstanding experience and are well supported to achieve their qualification to the highest of standards.

You will facilitate and enable students to access the full range of College services so that they stay in learning and fulfil their potential.

This role could be the next step for a Candidate who is working as a TA within a school setting but would like to progress to working within FE.

We will provide on-the-job training opportunities as required, including options to consider a career in teaching.
