This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of English, Mathematics and Skills at campus level, while also taking on cross-college responsibility for a subject area aligned to your specialist expertise. The Curriculum Area Manager – Skills will lead, motivate and support staff to deliver high-quality provision across GCSE, Essential Skills, Advanced Learning and the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate, ensuring learners are placed on the right qualification pathway and receive an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to drive improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, attendance, attainment and progression, using learner data and quality assurance processes to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. As the cross-college lead for their specialist subject area, they will support consistency in curriculum delivery, quality assurance, standardisation and moderation across campuses. They will also play a key role in embedding literacy, numeracy, digital skills and Welsh language development across teaching and learning, while working closely with curriculum, ALN and support teams to ensure learners are well supported and able to achieve their full potential.
The ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.

Requirements & Compliance
• Safeguarding: Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and EWC registration (costs covered by the candidate).
• Qualifications: Lecturers must hold or be willing to achieve a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) within a set period.
