Do you want to develop your equine skills within a teaching and commercial environment?

We are seeking to recruit a dynamic individual to assist in the day to day within the Equestrian Centre, which includes a range of commercial and curriculum activities. As well as caring for the horses, you would also support our learners in their practical lessons.

A Level 2 Equine related qualification will be the minimum requirement along with experience in working in an equine establishment. You should be able to effectively work with students and clients in a practical context with excellent communication skills.

In return, you will be working within a supportive and driven team of Equine Specialists. You will receive relevant training that will support this role and any future development.

Bicton College is based in East Devon, near Exeter, and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from the Jurassic Coast. The historic Georgian mansion, commercial farm, animal husbandry school, modern veterinary nursing building, world-class engineering and heavy plant machinery workshop, walled garden and arboretum are all set in over 200 hectares of historic parkland.

We have excellent terms and conditions of employment. We offer access to generous occupational pension schemes for teachers and support staff. We have generous annual leave schemes including a paid Christmas closure of two weeks for most roles. We have flexible and supportive family friendly working practices with a range of contracts available including term time only options. We have a range of staff development activities available and all employees have access to free tuition on many of our courses. We offer a range of health and wellbeing initiatives to our employees including access to free counselling and a corporate eye care scheme. Most of our campus sites offer free parking to employees as well as discounted restaurants and salons.
