Are you passionate about the marine environment?

Based at our Newquay University Centre campus, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our team as the Higher Education Programme Manager for the BSc (Hons) Applied Marine Zoology.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our talented team. Our programme managers are responsible for the full student journey from initial interest through to application, learning and assessment and culminating in the finalising of marks at the Subject Assessment panels. Our linked suite of courses based broadly across the Zoology, Surf & Marine disciplines enable staff to teach a range of subjects across the programmes inspiring our students and integrating fully in the team. We strive for an innovative curriculum which equips learners with the real-world skills, knowledge and aptitudes to give them competitive advantage in their future career.

Applicants must have experience within the marine sector, have knowledge of frameworks and policies, and be proficient in a range of related skills such as: Geographic Information Systems, surveying & modelling techniques, statistical analysis, and research project supervision.

Whilst experience of teaching/training and a minimum level five teaching qualification is desirable, applicants without these aspects must possess a willingness to be supported and funded to achieve this within three years of appointment.

This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK to live and work, within a location and among people noted for their passion and commitment to building relationships between people and the natural world for the benefit of all living things.

We have an excellent package for the right candidate to include highly competitive salary, Teachers Pension Scheme, generous relocation package/Golden Hello and option of housing support. Generous Holidays: 37 days holiday per year plus bank holidays and an additional two weeks at Christmas. We have a range of staff development activities available and all employees have access to free tuition on many of our courses. We offer a range of health and wellbeing initiatives to our employees including access to free counselling and a corporate eye care scheme. Most of our campus sites offer free parking to employees as well as discounted restaurants and salons.
