Science Technician (Ref 027/2223)
Salary: £18,511 to £20,205 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) 37 hours per week.
An exciting opportunity has become available in the Science & Access to Higher Education team at Coventry College.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, diligent and inspiring Science Technician with the vision, commitment and determination to continue raising standards for all our learners. The successful candidate can be sure of working with a team of extremely dedicated staff in a very motivating, forward-thinking Further Education environment.
Successful applicants must have relevant prior experience working within education settings and be able to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and behaviours in a related science background. Ideally, you will also have the skills and expertise to support practical work across a diverse curriculum.

As a Science Technician, you should:
- Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Science
- Hold a Level 2 qualification in English & Maths
- Be COSHH trained or willingness to undergo training
- Have a good level of knowledge across multiple science specialisms
You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Recent experience of working in a science laboratory
- Experience of using science laboratory equipment
- Experience of carrying out risk assessments
- Experience of working with young people
- Experience of working in a school/college laboratory
- Experience of training staff/students on the safe use of technical equipment
- Experience of working as a Science Technician in an education setting
